“Then he told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree and all the trees; as soon as they sprout leaves you can see for yourselves and know that summer is already near.”
Church Family,
This first Sunday of Advent we celebrate the decoration of the sanctuary, but more importantly the way our decorations remind us of Christ’s eternal glory. Thanks to all who helped decorate!
For the winter, I will still plan to keep the hours Wednesday and Sunday from 1-3pm open, but won’t physically be on the porch in the cold. Feel free to reach out to make an appointment!
Along with prerecorded worship we continue to livestream in-person worship at https://www.facebook.com/SwepsUMC
In the bulletin on Sunday I’ve been including resources for a personal devotion and scripture readings throughout the week. After all, our worship continues every day and not just Sundays. I will begin publishing these in our emails as well for folks who miss Sunday. See below, and I’d be happy to talk over personal prayer practices with anyone interested.
In devotions on Wednesdays I’ll be working through 1 Thessalonians with an eye towards Advent themes.
I’ve tried to work on making our prayer list below more detailed. If you’d like to add a prayer or detail to a concern below feel free to call, text, or email at any time.
Our Google Meet will convene tonight at 6:30pm to begin discussing Infancy Narratives. We hope you’ll join us!

God bless all of you!
