” Christ, from whom all blessings flow,
perfecting the saints below,
hear us, who thy nature share,
who thy mystic body are.
Many are we now, and one,
we who Jesus have put on;
there is neither bond nor free,
male nor female, Lord, in thee.
Love, like death, hath all destroyed,
rendered all distinctions void;
names and sects and parties fall;
thou, O Christ, art all in all!””
Just a few verses from the hymn I sing above that have been sitting with me this morning.
Church Family,
Our Charge Conference will meet online on Zoom tomorrow (Monday the 27th) at 6:30pm. This will be an individual conference with our District Superintendent. Anyone is welcomed to join us at
https://nccumc.zoom.us/j/99128236003…
At the worship in that service we will consider:
1. How have you experienced the Holy Spirit at work in your church?
2. How has your church been challenged or found opportunity to live out your baptismal vows?
Along with this prerecorded service of worship, I’ll be attempting a livestream of worship this morning at 11:00am at https://www.facebook.com/SwepsUMC I can’t promise it will work, but I’m interested to try out the technology as something to use regularly during and post pandemic.
In devotions on Wednesdays I’ll be moving on from Mark, and in the coming weeks I’ll cover some Methodist/Wesleyan topics. If there’s anything you’d like me to cover regarding our tradition, or biblical/theological questions you’d like explored I’d be very happy to cover them midweek.
I’ve tried to work on making our prayer list below more detailed. If you’d like to add a prayer or detail to a concern below feel free to call, text, or email at any time.
Our Google Meet will continue studying Leviticus with Leviticus 4 tonight at 6:30. We hope you’ll join us!
