“Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For it is on him that God the Father has set his seal.”
Church Family,
In the next four weeks the focus of worship (in-person at 11am and online) will be on “The Bread of Life,” considering Jesus’ feeding of the 5000 and the speech about it from John 6. If you’d like to read beforehand those readings will be: 7/25 John 6:24-35; 8/1 John 6:35, 41-51; 8/8 John 6:51-58. If you worship with us in person you will have the chance to receive communion each Sunday of the next four weeks. If you worship online or might be absent, I’d love a chance to celebrate communion with you. I’ll be prepared to do that at my porch hours, or to bring the elements to you wherever you are. Just get in touch with me if you’re interested.
In devotions on Wednesdays I’ll be covering sections in Mark the lectionary skips:
7/28 Mark 4:1-25
8/4 Mark 7:9-13, 16-20
8/11 Mark 8: (1-10)11-26
8/18 Mark 9:10-29
8/25 Mark 11:(12-33) 12:13-17
We will plan to restart adult Sunday School 8/1. We will have books available at church.
We will have a brief Fall Festival meeting after church on August 1st to discuss plans and hear any concerns or questions. You’re welcomed to attend, or to offer your thoughts about the fall festival via email or text.
I will plan to be on the parsonage porch from 1-3pm Wednesdays and Sundays, and am normally always available at other times during the week as well. Feel free to stop and chat.
I’ve tried to work on making our prayer list below more detailed. If you’d like to add a prayer or detail to a concern below feel free to call, text, or email at any time.
Our Google Meet will read Genesis 41:1-36 tonight at 6:30pm. We hope you’ll join us!
