“Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave the place. If any place will not welcome you and they refuse to hear you, as you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet as a testimony against them”
Church Family,
Blessings on this Fourth of July! Perhaps we can hear Jesus’ words above as a command to go out and make disciples without pressure or judgement, but maybe we can also hear it as a challenge for ourselves to welcome those we find in our own community. On this Independence Day we celebrate the freedoms afforded to us in this nation, and hope that our freedom may be used for others, and for the goal of equality and justice for everyone.
It was great to hear last week from Reggie Helton, a development officer at the Methodist Home. You can find out more info about this important organization at https://www.mhfc.org/
Our church yard sale was a success! Thanks to everyone who helped out, donated, or supported the yard sale in any other way. It’s always a joy to have so many people from the community share our building.
We will plan to restart adult Sunday School 8/1. We will have books available at church in the coming weeks.
I will plan to be on the parsonage porch from 1-3pm Wednesdays and Sundays, and am normally always available at other times during the week as well. Feel free to stop and chat.
I’ve tried to work on making our prayer list below more detailed. If you’d like to add a prayer or detail to a concern below feel free to call, text, or email at any time.
Our Google Meet will not meet this evening, but will read Genesis 39:1-23 next Sunday at 6:30pm. We hope you’ll join us next week!
