11/11/20 Devotion

Church Family,

I couldn’t read my own handwriting in my notes when I recorded, and I want to apologize to everyone for missing a prayer and thanksgiving for Veteran’s Day. I am deeply grateful for all those in our community and nation who have served, and earnestly pray that their service and example be truly honored by everyone in our country. God bless all of you who have served.

Jesus, thine all-victorious love
shed in my heart abroad;
then shall my feet no longer rove,
rooted and fixed in God.

O that in me the sacred fire
might now begin to glow;
burn up the dross of base desire
and make the mountains flow!

O that it now from heaven might fall
and all my sins consume!
Come, Holy Ghost, for thee I call,
Spirit of burning, come!

Refining fire, go through my heart,
illuminate my soul;
scatter thy life through every part
and sanctify the whole.

Click here for a digital copy of a statement from our finance committee. We hope you will read it, and we give thanks for the support (financial and otherwise) of our whole church family during a difficult year.

Stone Soup is doing a special meal for Thanksgiving. If you have a recipe for sweet potato casserole, they’d love you to make one and freeze it for a thanksgiving meal for those they serve. They have the sweet potatoes, they just need a lot of hands to help! Please let me know if you’d like to help, or even drive for them for that special meal.

Our Sunday Google Meet continues to meet in the evening and discuss the Psalms. We hope you will join us for this time of study and fellowship in the future.
