“I regard everything as loss because of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and I regard them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ”
Church Family,
As we discuss steps for the winter, we will be moving our outdoor worship to 11:00am for more hospitable weather. Accordingly, our next outdoor worship service will be this Sunday, October 11th at 11:00am in the parking lot. Please park along the Swepsonville Methodist Road side of the parking lot, across the street at the parsonage, or on the lawn. Please bring your own chair and attend to all masking and distancing recommendations.
As you can tell in the video above, this hymn brought me some comfort today:
When I survey the wondrous cross
on which the Prince of glory died,
my richest gain I count but loss,
and pour contempt on all my pride.
Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast
save in the death of Christ, my God!
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them through his blood.
See, from his head, his hands, his feet,
sorrow and love flow mingled down.
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
or thorns compose so rich a crown?
Were the whole realm of nature mine,
that were a present far too small.
Love so amazing, so divine,
demands my soul, my life, my all.
Our Sunday Google Meet continues to meet in the evening and discuss the Psalms. We hope you will join us for this time of study and fellowship in the future.
